From high school Randy enlisted in the U.S. Navy as a Seaman Recruit and went to Recruit Training Command, Orlando, Florida — to make his fortune. Still poor after two years, he accepted a Secretary of the Navy appointment to the United States Naval Academy where he graduated 29th in his class, and became an officer in the United States Marine Corps.

An officer. Then a believer.

Honorably discharged at the expiration of his commitment, he attended and graduated Liberty University's School of Divinity in 1988 with a Master of Arts in Religion.

He later joined a Marine Reserve unit and received training in mountain warfare. The very week the first Gulf War broke out, he entered Jump School at Fort Benning, Georgia.

Like his father — into law enforcement.

Randy entered Law Enforcement like his father and became a Major Crimes detective, investigating Homicides and Sex Crimes — mainly against children.

The work demanded everything that uniformed service had taught him — discipline, composure under stress, an ear for the truth in a room full of stories — and asked him to apply it to the most painful interior of American life.

District 29, elected 1994.

They told him the seat was unwinnable.

Growing concerned about the trajectory of American politics and culture, he ignored well-meant advice regarding the impossibility of a novice winning election to the Florida House of Representatives. He commenced a grassroots election campaign in 1994 and became the State Representative for Florida's House District 29.

A bold speaker on the issues he holds dear.

Conviction earned the call. Randy accepted invitations to numerous state and national television programs, taking the case for traditional family values directly to American living rooms.

It is that same bold conviction — and his concern about our Nation's ominous decline under two-party rule — that led Randy to launch The Spirit of Independents.

Once again — he will answer an “impossible” challenge.

He will do this, with your help, by igniting a national movement to unseat a whole class of officeholders — those Democrats and Republicans responsible for our congressional paralysis and uncontrolled over-spending which together constitute a palpable existential threat to the future of the United States of America.

His message to concerned citizens across the diverse spectrum of our political parties — yes, including registered Democrats and Republicans — is a two-part urgent call:

First

Be a part of the 12-Second Revolution. On 7 November 2028, with your all-powerful vote, empower Independent candidates to sweep all 470 federal seats up for election — defeating every major-party candidate running for the U.S. House, the U.S. Senate, and the White House.

Second

Go forward along the avenues of your life with this war cry — We are The Spirit of Independents, and this IS the Revolution.

His call — and ours
We are the Spirit of Independents,
and this IS the Revolution!
